Over-the-Air Evaluation of User Body Loss for Popular In-Ear Bluetooth Earbuds

Wireless earbuds have become the preferred electronic device for listening to music and hands-free talking. The combined radio performance of earbud handset determines quality established communication link hence user experience. This paper presents an extensive comparative study five common Bluetooth earbuds, where transmit performance, in terms total radiated power (TRP), is investigated. measurements are conducted right-side low high ends frequency spectrum. Moreover, two scenarios considered: (1) placed free space (2) a person’s ear. For latter case, 12 volunteers involved measurement campaign. Measurements show that mean deterioration, due placement ear, ranges from 3 6 dB across tested earbuds.
